last year robin williams played a late night political talk show host who decides to run for president in the movie man of the year, and to his and everyone’s surprise he wins. i watched this movie, and i thought it would be funny but it was more of a suspense than a comedy. and it was kind of dark.
in real life, talk show host stephen colbert announced last month that he will run for president. i’ve read an article about him in a magazine before, and have seen clips from his show but i don’t watch him. on sunday he was in south carolina, and he told fans at the university of south carolina that if he won he would “crush the state of georgia.” and he said that he will run as a democrat and a republican so he can lose twice. this is funny stuff. i thought the robin williams movie would be along these lines, but the movie took itself way too serious.
