20 seconds of insane courage

last night i watched the movie we bought a zoo, the movie is based on a true story about a single dad (and his two children) who buys a zoo. it’s a very inspiring story. the scene of “20 seconds of insane courage” stuck out. give yourself permission to be fearless, even if it is just for 20 seconds!

what i’ve been watching

the past 24 hours i’ve watched 3 documentaries.

1. Picture Me
2. Nursery University
3. Garrison Keillor: The Man on the Radio with the Red Shoes

i’ve had these on my wishlist on amazon for quite some time, and while i had access to them through amazon prime i just didn’t have the time to watch them. the first one is about model sara ziff/modeling. she filmed it with her boyfriend. they did a good job sharing slices of the modeling world. the second documentary, nursery university, is a look at the very competitive world of nursery school admissions of certain communities in new york city. on one hand it is understandable, but then on the other it is just flat out crazy. if you like garrison keillor you would like the third documentary i watched because it is an opportunity to experience more of him.

my mom has been trying to get me to watch food, inc. but right now i just prefer to stay in a state of ignorance and oblivion when it comes to the food i eat. i already know some of the stuff i eat isn’t good for me. but yeah, i love a good documentary.

if you’re a bird, i’m a bird (the notebook)

the notebook is one of my favorite movies. i saw it at the theater with my mom, and then eventually she bought it for me. it’s a must see if you are a female, and believe in finding true love. the idea of creating a visual homage to the film came to mind, and i was going to postpone it to valentines but i thought i would go ahead and post now. enjoy! and watch this movie if you haven’t seen it yet!

jane austen book club

love love this movie. as a kid i was introduced to jane austen by my sister and the movie clueless. my sister loves sense & sensibility. i haven’t read her books but i’ve seen tons of movies based off her books. jane austen book club is a movie that came out a couple years ago that i absolutely love. one of my favorite movies. the movie is about a book club that reads jane austen. six months. six novels. six members. if you love jane austen you would love this movie.

i watched the movie this morning again, and it got me thinking…maybe i should tackle jane austen novels. read them all!

eat, pray, love, and wait?

i was for sure that eat, pray, love came out on august 6th for some reason. then my friend alice tells me that it doesn’t come out until the following week, august 13th. so i have to wait another week for the film. but okay, i will wait. perhaps this will give me time to actually read the book!

where do people get the time to do things like this?

in response to the yahoo article fox sets earth day release of “avatar” on dvd someone wrote…

“I am VERY pleased to hear this! I’ve seen Avatar in RealD 3D nine times, and it has yet to fail to amaze me! Jim Cameron is a genius, and I can be expected to see this film AT LEAST 3 times in IMAX 3D for this rerelease! :)” – Aaron R Fri Mar 12, 2010 09:08 pm
