how i once had the purpose driven life

the other day i watched part of the carrie underwood interview that she did with oprah on oprah’s next chapter show. part of the interview she is with her husband mike fisher, they share about how he gave her the book the purpose driven life when they met. i immediately think how sweet that is and how i wish some guy would give me the purpose driven life too. i am all but a few steps away from jealously.

(Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood Discuss Faith)

a couple days later after watching the interview it dawns on me that a guy has given me that exact book before! like seriously. i go to my office and scour my bookcase for it. then its a moment of “oh yeah” i let my sister borrow the book.

sometimes we want what other people have, but if we had it (like i did) we probably wouldn’t even place much value on it.

hilary duff is expecting a baby and jessica alba is playing a mom of school age kids?

…something is wrong with the world. i mean, i am getting old. recently read that hilary duff (lizzie mcguire) is preggers and i’ve seen the spy kids promos and jessica alba is playing a mom to school age kids. they are so grown, which means i am also so grown…and old. jessica alba is more my age than hilary duff but it seems like just yesterday she was a little disney star. time flies. someone on youtube responded to the news of her pregnancy with “my childhood is officially over.” lol. i’m not for sure when i felt that feeling of my childhood being officially over, maybe it was when i moved to austin for college. i don’t know.

“come clean” is one of her best songs. really good lyrics.

work has been crazy. i’ve been coming home with barely any energy to do anything. i need to become adjusted to being back at work. i’ve barely had time to go through the proof of my book, but tonight i was finally able to submit the changes. i should set a publish date, instead of taking the approach of “sometime in august”.

don’t have any weekend plans, but i really want to go see the movie one day with anne hathaway in it. i have barely seen any movies this summer. i should do a movie marathon. who’s in? ;) go see like 4 movies this weekend.

sounds like fun, eh?

have a good thursday!

LOVE Conan! this is unfortunate…

People of Earth:

In the last few days, I’ve been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I’ve been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I’ve been absurdly lucky. That said, I’ve been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.

Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over “The Tonight Show” in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004, I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.

But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months, with my “Tonight Show” in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.

Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the “Tonight Show” to 12:05 to accommodate the “Jay Leno Show” at 11:35. For 60 years, the “Tonight Show” has aired immediately following the late local news. I sincerely believe that delaying the “Tonight Show” into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The “Tonight Show” at 12:05 simply isn’t the “Tonight Show.” Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking the “Late Night” show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot. That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.

So it has come to this: I cannot express in words how much I enjoy hosting this program and what an enormous personal disappointment it is for me to consider losing it. My staff and I have worked unbelievably hard, and we are very proud of our contribution to the legacy of “The Tonight Show.” But I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet, a time slot doesn’t matter. But with the “Tonight Show,” I believe nothing could matter more.

There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.

Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it’s always been that way.

Yours,

Conan

miley cyrus dating a 20 year old? ridiculous!

Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Her Relationship With Underwear Model Justin Gaston – MTV

the article states that she is 15, but isn’t she 16? nonetheless, a 16 year old shouldn’t be with a 20 year old. at 16 you are underage, and isn’t this illegal in all 50 states? miley cyrus is a role model for a lot of young girls, and she is telling them that it is okay to fool around with a grown man and for a grown man to be involved with underage girls.

am i being judgmental? perhaps, but i don’t care…i am speaking out against it for the sake of other young girls. totally disgusted at miley cyrus.

this girl need some parents who will stand up against her doing whatever she pleases.

i knew i was fogetting something important
