amilliondifferentthings.comis a project i started over winter break but haven’t had much time to play around with. i spent some time this afternoon working on it, i’m not for sure on what exactly will go on with it at this point.
back in the late 90′s i had a girl ‘zine on geocities, and so i’ve always been interested in the idea of producing online content and having an online magazine. it is called a million different things, amdt for short, because i’m interested in a ride range of things. however, niche is important and so maybe it is all wrong.
for the time being i just have some random free articles on the site. i’m unsure if i want to go for quantity over true quality. quantity would get people to the site (more content = showing up more on google), but quality will keep the visitors returning. but is returning visitors all that important? is not it all about whether the visitor click on the advertisement?
is it possible to have both? quantity and quality. i could write articles, and find a group of people who would be interested in blogging for the site. make it into a quality lifestyle online magazine. but…i kind of like the idea of throwing whatever at the site, post content without much thought to it all.
in a 7 month period last year i made $1.69 from google adsense from this blog. dismal amount. however, i don’t have that many google ads throughout my blog and i haven’t focused any energy on optimizing adsense revenue. i think if i plastered adsense to the allowable amount that i could generate some pocket change.
